Many train the trainer programmes place a heavy emphasis on helping participants understand adult learning principles and theory.
Our emphasis here at The Training Oasis, Inc. has always been on practice and real world results rather than theory.
We use accelerated learning to help you boost your confidence and fine-tune your presentation, facilitation and coaching skills.
Our sesions are 2 1/2 - 3 days to allow ample opportunity for practice and coaching. There is an evening assignment each night. If your employees are unable to complete assignments in the evening, please add 1/2 a day to the workshop.
Train the Trainer Programmes
To achieve this objective, we have a number of self-study module to cover the teory behind adult learning and accelerated learning. This will free us up to devote most of the time during our workshops to skill drills, exercises, practice, and coaching.
Depending on your requriements, interactive self-study modules can include:

During The Trainer's Boot Camp, you will build on the information that we have highlighted in this self-study module. We will go into more detail about some topics and give participants an opportunity to hone their skills through practice. Many of the practice sessions will be video taped and participants will leave with a personal video so that they can view their progress and review what they have learned in the worshop.
Rather than spending a lot of time listening to lectures and just talking about training, The Trainer's Boot Camp will use:
- video clips of effective training
- paired exercises and peer coaching to reinforce learning
- skill drills to fine-tune the skills that are required to facilitate effective training and development sessions
- video-taped practice training sessions to increase your level of comfort in facilitating training sessions
By the end of the workshop, you and your partner will facilitate part of a short training module that you will eventually deliver.
Instructional designers and subject matter experts are often asked to design training within very tight timeframes. Time pressure, short lead times and compressed instructional design cycles will only intensify as economic turbulence continues.
This hands-on workshop will give you the tools to design and develop interactive and engaging training and development programmes that address real business and organizational (non-profit, educational) needs.
Please note this is an interactive workshop and NOT case-driven, traditional learning. This workshop involves hands-on work in pairs of small project teams.
Our approach is hands-on and practical rather than theoretical or traditional.. In the educational system and at university, we have all already been exposed to heavy doses of analytical and structured instructional methods. This workshop emphasizes hands-on, interactive kinesthetic and visual approaches designed to appeal to a new generation of learners who have been raised in a media rich environment. The programme will model and give expose participants to non-traditional instructional methods (e.g. simulations, games, group exercises, projects).
This 2 1/2 - 3 hour simulation introduces trainers to accelerated learning. It is ideal for conference breakout sessions.
Through this unique, simulation based on a visit to a Jamaican bakery, trainers will experience the impact of accelerated learning.
By the end of this session, participants will discover how to:
- Remain fresh and enthusiastic even after delivering the same material dozens of times.
- Create a colourful and stimulating learning environment.
- Kick off sessions with entertaining, course-related ice-breakers.
- Transform technical material from mundane to magnificent.

Spicing Up Your Training is available in a 1 or 2 day format. (Also available as an interactive keynote.)
During this upbeat course, participants prepare to "shoot a movie" about an important business meeting. From the initial casting call to the wrap party, they are so busy having fun that they forget about their nervousness. By the final "take" they've made dramatic improvements and mastered the art of developing and delivering Star Quality Presentations. We can offer this at a film studio in Toronto.
